Agape sandals are manufactured in the Agape factory, on our
beautiful farm in Currys Post, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Uppers are uniquely
hand stitched and beaded using indigenous techniques, which have
been perfected by the African people over generations; while soles
are injection moulded, using advanced world class technology and
materials at our footwear component factory, S A Tool & Die,
in the Imbali Township in nearby Pietermaritzburg.
S A
Tool & Die are the leading supplier of components to the
South African footwear industry. Agape brings employment to
a large number of people from the local community - having relocated
our factory into the local community greatly reduces their time away
from their families. Through training and empowerment, Agape
is making a difference to many previously disadvantaged families.
In
South Africa and surrounding countries Namibia and Botswana,
Agape supply footwear to all the major tourist destinations (approximately
250 retail outlets), and export their footwear internationally
to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Spain and Greece, and it is our
aim to continue to build the first international brand of footwear
from Africa.
